A bit of a Winter Wonderland!

Just finished the latest multi-page workshop - this time using Close To My Heart's Wonderland paper collection.  Wonderland features Chocolate, Twilight, Heavenly Blue, Crystal Blue, a little Gray Flannel, and an unexpected Spring Iris.  Being from Texas, I am a little inexperienced at creating scrapbooking layouts with a snow theme, but I was very pleasantly surprised at how easy it all came together.  We did have a big snow  last year and I can't wait to get my snow pictures onto my layouts.  Who knows when we will ever get more snow, so I plan to enjoy looking at my Wonderland layouts for a long time.

You Warm My Heart

This cute little Treat Box is 3 x 3 and was cut out using the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge. I used the Wonderland Workshop On The Go paper pack and stamp set, and a couple of other winter season stamp sets in my stash.

There are four little decorated gift tags that fit neatly inside, and the box is just big enough to hold one of the little Russell Stover chocolate candy assortments or a couple of packages of hot chocolate mix.

This was my contribution to a recent shoe box swap, and the featured project at a workshop with my friends in Little Elm.

What A Great Surprise!!!

I've not been very active on the blog lately.  Had a minor medical issue that had to be fixed, then was away on a camping trip for a while.  When I looked at the comments a few minutes ago I was very pleasantly surprised.  Paula, over at Paula's Space http://paula-bees-space.blogspot.com/  had shared an award with me, and said some very sweet things on her blog.  Thank you, Paula.

Here's the award, and the rules for accepting this honor.

Liebster is a German word that means beloved or favorite. This award is only for blogs with fewer than 200 followers, so up-and-coming bloggers are recognized for their creative works!

Here are the rules to accept this award:

1. Thank the giver and link back to the blogger who gave it to you.
2. Reveal your top 5 picks and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.
3. Copy and paste the award and rules on your blog.
4. Have faith that your followers will spread the love to other bloggers.
5. And most of all - have fun!

And my top 5 picks are (in no particular order)

Tonya W at Heart and Soul Scrappers
Lots of great inspiration (for the soul as well as paper crafting)

Judy Faye at Judy Faye's Place
This blog is new and full of ideas and links for tutorials
http://judyfaye.blogspot.com/

Rebecca at Becca's Creative Place

Sheila at Scrapbooking and Other Tidbits

The Crop Spot in Tyler, Texas

If you live close to Tyler, Texas and love paper crafting, you will surely want to go visit Jana Glosson's store, The Crop Spot.  Jana has filled the store with lots of great basic supplies and tools, as well as many of the new trend products and supplies.  She has classes throughout the month and times set aside for crops.

Today, I went to The Crop Spot to meet Jimmye Sue Mitchell of Texana Designs, and the artist for the rubber stamp line, Joyce A Meyer.  They had two cards for us to make, taught a couple of techniques and I got to use some of their stamps with Joyce's beautiful artwork.

Texana Designs' ETSY shop is here.

Info about Texana Designs is here.

On this card we used a paper piecing technique and water colors.

This one used a bleaching techinque on the cardstock, with pearl paints washed over the bleached areas.  This was my first time to play with this technique, and I can see where I will be using this one a lot.

A big thank you to Jana for hosting the training, and to Jimmye Sue and Joyce for sharing their incredible talent.

Here's two of the stamps I bought today.  Hope to get to play with them very soon.

Sonoma 12 Page Workshop

Just put the finishing touches on the Sonoma 12 Page Layout Workshop.  I am in love with these colors.  Smokey Plum, Olive, Cocoa, Bamboo, Pansy Purple, Colonial White.  Very romantic and easy to coordinate colors.  As usual I have one or two favorites from the batch, and one that I would like a "do over".  Thanks for checking them out.

Roxie - 14 Page Workshop

Just finished the newest multipage workshop using Close To My Heart's paper collection, Roxie.  I am getting a couple of layouts less with the changes in the paper packs, but I really like the new weight of the patterned papers, so I don't mind the change at all.  The heavier weight of the papers makes for a nice feel and consistency in the overall look of the layouts.

Fork Bows - Easy, Easy, Easy

Anyone who has been at a scrap day with me has seen "The Fork Bow" because I use these cuties all the time. I've been asked to post a tutorial for them, but I'm not big fan of re-inventing the wheel, so I'm going to give you links to a couple of great tutorials.  The Forking With Di tutorial is the original one that I found a couple of years ago. Make some bows today! I promise they will put a smile on your face.

Cricut boxes

This cute little french fry box was made with the new CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  I stuffed it with some yummy little Lavender Shortbread squares, a square of chocolate, and a chocolate straw.  I used the new cardstock weight patterned papers from the Sonoma collection.

These are the little pillow boxes that are the perfect size for a gift card.  The paper collection is Wonderland.

Had A Great Saturday

Spent a wonderful day on Saturday with friends and family, doing something that I love - paper crafting.  Just thought I would share a few of the goodies created by my friends.

Dreamin' Layout and Card Workshop

Decided to do something a little different with this workshop.  This one was created using Close To My Heart's Dreamin' paper collection.  Instead of being all layouts, it contains six 2-page layouts and 2 each of 6 card designs.
