Pear & Partridge 12 Card Workshop

Deep, rich, traditional Christmas colors and patterns – but with a little addition of some Smoothie and Cashmere, makes Close To My Heart's Pear & Partridge a beautiful seasonal paper collection.

La Belle Vie 10 Page Layout Workshop

Close To My Heart’s La Belle Vie paper collection brings to mind romance, vintage, shabby chic, beauty, and of course France.  I do love the romantic colors of black, mauve, and pink in this collection.  And the embellishments -  ooh la la – who wouldn’t love the pearls, tulle, bling, and stickers?  CTMH really has a vast array of accessories that coordinate very well with La Belle Vie.

This one was a step outside my comfort zone to “see” the possibilities.  I like clean lines in my scrapbook pages so getting into the clustering and layering is something I have to work harder to “see”.  This did prove that I will never be able to put together one of the beautiful shabby chic layouts that I so admire.  Just not going to happen.  Brain does not work that way, and I’ll just leave that to the pros.

Avonlea 10 Page Workshop

Timeless.  Avonlea is one of those paper collections that can be taken in different directions, depending on the colors, and accessories used to complement the designs.  It is absolutely beautiful with heritage photos, a tribute to Mom layout, an album about yourself, or you can dress it up for wedding photos.  Using chocolate cardstock turns it into pefect papers for masculine layouts.  This collection has been a true joy to get creative ideas going.  The only problem with this one is that I ran out of papers before I ran out of inspiration.  And my favorite stamp set for Avonlea is the one that comes with the Workshop On The Go.  Great and versatile stamp set.  This one will never leave my collection.

Dakota 5 x 7 Kraft Envelope Album

The challenge was to use Close To My Heart's Dakota paper collection for a more feminine project.  Dakota is perfect for layouts featuring the guys in our lives or making masculine cards.  It works great for western or country themed projects, but I wanted to see if I could really make it work for my CTMH Convention 2012 (in my home state of Texas) pictures.  And those pictures are all about the girl time!  Well guess what!  It is perfect with some bling and flowers, and now all I need to do is add my pictures.

The album is made from seven (7) 5 x 7 Kraft envelopes, bound together with book rings.  All the pages are decorated and there are inserts inside the envelopes to hold journaling, more pictures, or memorabilia.    The papers were very easy to coordinate, and I had a ton of fun making this one.  A couple of the pages are a little plain, leaving opportunities to customize.  I went a little crazy on the Cricut die cuts though.  What's a girl to do when she has a CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge and a brand new CTMH Artiste cartridge?  There's a total of 72 die cuts in this workshop.  What was I thinking????

Take a look.  See what you think.  Would love to hear your feedback.

Victory Workshop

The Victory paper pack was a dream to work with, and I love the colors – Chocolate, Olive, Goldrush, Outdoor Denim, Bamboo and Desert Sand.  These layouts would be great for any kind of sports events, outdoor play, camping, hunting, hiking, Father’s Day…  Hope you like this one!

Been away for a while

Wow, I can't believe how long it has been since I posted.  So much has been going on that I have let this slide a little.  First, I've been on a month long vacation - which was awesome.  We packed up the RV and headed to Custer, South Dakota.  What a beautiful little piece of this great country!  So much to see and do, there's a good chance we will go back there sometime.  We saw Mount Rushmore, the Crazyhorse Monument,  more wildlife than I have ever seen in one place, several lakes, museums, and wonderful little towns.  And the climate there is fantastic.  Kind of sad to come back to this Texas heat.

Have also been getting ready for the Close To My Heart Convention that is rapidly approaching.  In mid-July, consultants from all over the U.S. and Canada will meet in Dallas for Texas sized fun!  I've been busy, busy working on my swap cards and since this is my first CTMH convention I am hoping they will be up to the standard of everyone else's swap cards.  Then I worked on some Studio J layouts for a convention project.

Lucy 10 Page Workshop

Lucy is the paper pack I used for this workshop, and it has 10 pages (Five 2-page layouts). This one is perfect for photos of a precious little girl.  The colors featured in this collection are Blush, Sweet Leaf, Cotton Candy, Pear, Grey Wool, and Crème Brulee.  As you look at the photos though, please be aware that the Crème Brulee and Cotton Candy did not photograph as their true colors.

Stella Workshop

The Stella Workshop is finished!  It has 10 pages (Five 2-page layouts), and 4 cards.  The vibrant colors were so much fun to play with, especially Lagoon, Tulip, and Sunset.
